As mentioned above Kish Island has many attractive sites; let’s start with my favorite one.
Surrounded with magnificent date trees, Kish Dolphin Park or Dolphinarium is one of the best recreational parks in the Middle East. In Kish Dolphin Park you can visit funny Dolphins romping, sea lions, and walruses.
You cannot find anywhere better to seat calmly and visit the sunrise other than the Kish Islands Greek ship. This ship landing for almost 50 years has a very mysterious story inside. Built-in 1946 by a British shipyard, the cargo ship went to many coasts and seas. No one knows why this ship was burned or what happened to its crew, but one thing is for sure this marvelous ship is a must-go site in your Iran travel.
Green tree, the oldest lur tree of Iran is almost 600 years old. Many believe this tree is a sign and has magical power, therefore they tie bands on this wooden tree in order to fulfill their dreams and needs.
With nearly 55 different kinds of species, Bird Garden is one of the most beautiful tourist attractions of Kish Island. Bird Garden consists of two parts: in the first part Birds are in cages but in the second one they are kept in a free zone so that they can fly there freely. Bird Garden is located very close to Kish Dolphin Park and if you want you can visit them at once.
If you want to get to know the history of Kish Island and see how it was 800 years ago, the best way is to visit the Harireh ancient city. Aging back to the late Safavid era, you can still distinguish houses or shops from the ruins.
Kish Island has also an underground city aging back to 2500 years ago. 16 meters under the ground of Kish Island lies Kariz underground city, an ancient place used to produce the islands drinking water. If you are a history lover like me, this is the one place you shouldn’t miss on your Iran travel.
And at last you along with all the marine recreations you can enjoy visiting or touching Coral Reefs in Kish Island when scuba diving.
As some of you may know a free trade zone is a defined geographical area within each emirate. A free zone may also exist as the result of a mutual agreement between several countries to create a customs-free zone in a designated area. The fact that no duties or taxes are levied in the free zone helps to promote trade, especially the import and export of all kinds of goods.
Kish Island is a free zone too and this fact comes with many benefits. Foreigners don't need a visa to visit this jewelry of the Persian Gulf. Also renting high-class luxury cars is very cheap on this island and some tourists even choose this city only for these benefits.
Being in the free zone also means traders don't have to pay taxes to import clothes or other stuff, therefore prices are very cheap and even incomparable with prices in other cities.

The main town was Harireh, which is believed to be the town referred to by poet Sa’di in his famous work, Golestan (Rose Garden). Kish was known for the quality of its pearls; when Marco Polo was visiting the imperial court in China, he remarked on the beauty of the pearls worn by one of the emperor's wives and was told they had come from Kish. In the 14th century, Kish fell into decline and remained obscure until the 1970s, when it was developed as a semi-private retreat for the shah and his guests – complete with the international airport, luxury hotels, and even a grand casino
